Elk Falls, Campbell River - May 2021
My latest trip to Elk Falls in Campbell River was fun and beautiful - I was surprised to find this year my camp site didn't have a tent pad, but there was a level enough spot at the back where it looked like others had setup tents before - it turned out even better than the pads, since I could easily get my stakes in the ground... Though the O-Rings around the tent pads last year were super convenient for leashing up the dog when I needed to make a short trip to the restroom.
I was expecting a bit of rain on this trip, but I was blessed with beautiful weather for all but my checkout date so it was an even nicer weekend than I had hoped. Even while I was packing up to return home, the rain held out until I finished up and was well on my way.
Before leaving I had bought a renewal for my fresh water angling license, but this time I decided not to bring the pole out. Instead, I took the time to jump into a new cookbook I hadn't read yet, The Whole Fish Cookbook.
The night before I left, I setup a tarp to keep my tent drier for an easy packup the morning after. It worked out great with the jeep, I will definitely do this setup again.
